Adopt senior dogs, they are the best.

We just received news that we were approved as foster parents by the Golden Retriever Freedom Rescue!

A few years ago we adopted Maggie from the GRRF. She was a senior Golden rescued after a lifetime in a puppy mill, and gave we her the best life in Colorado: she went hiking, camping, swimming in rivers, concerts at the park, played in the snow, rolled on her back in the grass.

She was the best dog, so, so sweet, and dearly missed. I would like people to consider senior dogs when adopting. Seriously.

iPhone Canvas Wrap

Cheyenne posing by his iphone photo that I took during the winter while playing in the school yard! Most people do not believe it came out of an iPhone – I ordered as a test, and I am VERY happy with the quality!

It looks tiny, but it is actually a 16×24″canvas wrap – when I tell my clients, go big, I am serious! This is the smallest size I’d ever go for wall art…

This is one of my favorite photos of our boy. It shows his love of life and happiness when he runs through the snow.

The best camera is the one you have with you!

The best camera is the one you have with you. Daisy and her best nap friend forever, Hayden. Awww. ♥

Hayden is the daughter of good friends, and comes for play dates with Daisy from time to time. They play, run, squeal, chase each other and then fall asleep together, either on the couch or on a rug. So sweet.

How NOT to greet a dog…

In light of what happened to Kyle Dyer from 9News in Denver, who was bitten in the face during her interview with Max – an Argentinean Dogo who had just been rescued from an icy pond the day before – I thought it would be great to share this poster with you all.

We dog photographers have learned – sometimes the hard way – how to greet and approach strange dogs. And everyone should!

Great advise

American Digs winter session

After creating the imagery for American Digs during the summer, that included their amazing puffer coats, it was time to bring some real snow to the photographs. We waited a few weeks for a storm that would bring the right amount and, finally early February, Denver received over 15″of fluffy fresh snow over 24 hours. Perfect!

On “Sunday Super Bowl Morning” we met for our session at Commons Park, right before the kids with the sleds took over the area. Molly and Murphy, our models, dressed up and the fun began: Molly would not stop running but Murphy wanted to go home right now. After a few treats and some playtime, we got the images needed for the website. Job well done girls!:)

Thanks Erica, Brandon, Reid, Molly and Murphy, for the great time!
