Snow in Denver – An igloo for the dogs.

We got just over 12″of fluffy snow so far at home, and today I built an igloo for the dogs to play! And did that after shoveling – or would it be plowing – about 9″of snow from our own double driveway and two neighbors’ sidewalks. I now do believe P90X works!:D

Thanks, Stephanie! We had fun playing outside today, and it is still snowing!! :O

@[115134920348:274:Natasha Japp Photography] Yes. I’m also in Denver. We played outside a little but I had to work at home so I’m afraid my big boy is a little bored with me. ;-)

Stephanie Hopper Take him to play in the snow tomorrow and I am sure he will forgive you! What breed is he?

Today I cry for the Dogs.

Today I cried. I cried for the dogs I have photographed and that since have passed away. This past few weeks have been hard, as two amazing dogs crossed the rainbow bridge: Braxy and now Chloe. Today I also received news that Buster, the gentle giant Mastiff I photographed back in 2010 might be losing his battle with cancer. This is the tough side of being a dog photographer – the dogs I had the honor of photographing become part of my family. Much love from our pack to Bradley, Lauren, Nick, Skyla, Stephanie, and Chris.

Chloe was twelve and a half years old when I photographed her and her people last December at Red Rocks. Nick and Skyla hired me after being informed she had a tumor in her lung, and they were afraid she would not have much time for a Spring or Summer session.

I must say it was such a pleasure to photograph and play with her that morning. She was non-stop moving, running, playing with the toys, and the snow – just having an absolutely great time. How could she not? Being outside, under Colorado blue skies, eating fresh snow and yummy treats.

Her parents just told me she passed away last Monday. Goodbye, Tugboat, you were loved, spoiled and will be dearly missed.

Oh no. I am so sorry! I absolutely adore labs. I remember seeing her photos and nearly melting in my seat. She looks so incredibly happy in her photos. You captured her perfectly!

Thanks – it broke my heart when I heard she passed away. :(
