The Fourmile Fire is burning on 7,100 acres. Officials said a preliminary number of structures lost is at 92. Gov. Bill Ritter has declared a state of emergency and has dedicated $5 million to the effort. About 3,000 people remain under evacuation orders as the Fourmile fire continues to burn in the mountains west of Boulder. Officials said it will be at least 2 days before residents could be allowed to return.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is providing temporary shelter for all the all the pets that are being evacuated because of the wildfire in the Boulder area, and also providing free dry food for pets of displaced homeowners.
